About

When I was younger, a loved one gifted me my first computer after I’d shown interest, and I immediately fell in love. I was hooked, gaming all day at home and subsequently learning about the magic of CSS, often until late, at school.

Realizing I could eventually teach myself to code, I decided to pursue another interest and earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communication. It was a great experience because I got to learn about the media, audiences and marketing, while studying web development in my free time and enhancing my design and writing skills through course work.

Before fully turning my focus to software engineering, I honed my craft as a user interface designer. Equipped with my understanding of design principles, typography and visual hierarchy, I was able to seamlessly translate ideas into elegant and user-friendly designs that engaged users on a visual and interactive level.

Eventually, I transitioned to learning programming languages (focusing on JavaScript), core computer science concepts and software architecture principles.

Over the years, I’ve worked independently and collaborated with local and global cross-functional teams of designers, product managers and fellow software engineers, to develop and ship software that fulfills the needs of the business and end-users alike.

Through my experiences and learnings, I’ve gained a deep appreciation for the intricacies and layers of the software stack, user behaviour, product development and what’s required to build robust and scalable applications.

I’m currently mastering modern and decentralized web technologies, staying informed on the latest tech innovations and exploring emerging opportunities.
